MARKET ACCESS & GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS DIRECTOR ITALY Business unit Market Access Sedi Italia The Opportunity Our client is a mid-sized specialty biopharma focused exclusively on high-value, specialist-driven therapeutic areas. With multiple launches planned, we are hiring a Market Access & Government Affairs Director to lead Italy market access and external affairs. This is a high-impact role combining strategic ownership with hands-on delivery, and it includes direct people leadership (coaching, performance management, prioritization, and team development). Key Responsibilities • Define and execute the Italy Market Access strategy for pipeline and in-market products, ensuring clear launch readiness plans and timelines. • Lead pricing & reimbursement strategy and execution: value proposition, dossier input, negotiation planning and delivery. • Own engagement with key institutions including AIFA, Ministry of Health, Regions, HTA stakeholders and relevant bodies, building long-term credibility and influence. • Develop and implement the Government Affairs plan: policy monitoring, advocacy priorities, coalition-building and external initiatives aligned to company strategy. • Drive regional access execution (formularies, PDTA pathways, local implementation levers; procurement/tenders where relevant). • Work cross-functionally with Medical, HEOR, Commercial, Regulatory and Compliance to ensure coherent value communication and execution discipline. People Leadership • Lead and develop a team across Market Access and Government Affairs activities. • Set clear objectives, operating rhythm and decision-making governance; ensure delivery against launch milestones. • Coach team members on stakeholder management, negotiation readiness, and execution quality. What You Bring • Typically 10+ years in Market Access and/or Government Affairs within pharma/biopharma; specialty/hospital experience strongly preferred. • Demonstrated success navigating AIFA P&R and regional access complexity in Italy. • Track record supporting new product launches and translating evidence into payer-relevant value. • Proven people management experience with direct reports. • Fluent Italian and strong English.
