Pharma Point is managing the search for a Value & Access Director – Italy on behalf of rare disease company.
This is a strategic leadership position within the Market Access function, responsible for developing and executing the Market Access strategy for Italy, ensuring optimal pricing, reimbursement and patient access following marketing authorization.

Role Purpose

The Value & Access Director will engage early with key healthcare stakeholders — including government bodies, regulatory authorities, national pricing and reimbursement committees, technology assessment groups and insurance providers — to increase awareness of company’s brands and demonstrate their value for patients.
The role includes responsibility for institutional and government affairs strategy in Italy and active participation inside the Italian affiliate, contributing to overall business direction and strategic planning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop the Italian Market Access strategy in alignment with the Cluster Value & Access Director and CGM
  • Lead the development and implementation of value & access initiatives, including annual planning, field training, customer materials and pull-through programs
  • Contribute to strategic decision-making through participation in the Italian Executive Committee
  • Collaborate with Global Market Access and Business Unit Managers to recommend pricing strategies based on quantitative and qualitative research
  • Coordinate and develop the institutional and government affairs strategy for Italy
  • Ensure optimal pricing, reimbursement status and formulary positioning at national and regional level
  • Lead and develop the regional Market Access team
  • Ensure all activities are conducted in compliance with relevant laws, codes and corporate governance standards
Profile & Qualifications
  • University Degree in Health Sciences (Pharmacy, Medicine, Biology) or Economics; post-graduate qualification in business, public relations or market access is desirable
  • 5–8+ years of experience in management roles within the pharmaceutical industry
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing national Market Access strategies
  • Health Economics background
  • Demonstrated experience engaging stakeholders on healthcare policy issues
  • Strong knowledge of reimbursement processes and healthcare regulations at national and regional level
  • Advanced negotiation and project management skills
  • Team management experience
  • Proficiency in English
  • Availability for regional and international travel
